North Dakota State Capitol is located on a 160-acre campus in Bismarck. The 19-story building is the tallest in the state and one of the city's main attractions. Construction on the current building began in 1932, after the first capitol building burned to the ground in 1930. Today, the capitol grounds are home to six buildings. Be sure to visit the observation deck on the 18th floor to enjoy the view of the surrounding city, the highest view in the state.
