Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Theodore Roosevelt National Park is in a land of wide-open prairies, canyons with lush river bottoms and rugged North Dakota badlands. While driving along the 36-mile scenic loop in the park's South Unit, stop along the way to read the interpretive signs to learn more about the park. Roosevelt's Maltese Cross Cabin is also located in the South Unit, next to the Visitor Center. View Roosevelt's traveling trunk in the bedroom to see his initials inscribed in it.

The Elkhorn Ranch Unit is the section of the park where Roosevelt's "home ranch" buildings once existed. The on-site interpretive signs provide additional information about the ranch. Lace up your hiking boots to enjoy one of several hikes in the North Unit of the park. Enjoy a ranger-led tour, guided hike, guided horseback ride, campfire program or interpretive talk to learn more about this incredible area.
